The format
What is the Business Sprint?
The BFD Business Sprint is a ten-day business-design engagement that connects a proposed offer with the customer experience, delivery model and economics it needs. It gives leaders and operators a coherent direction and a practical plan for testing the assumptions behind it.

When it helps
A useful product needs a business that can deliver it.
A new service can make sense to a customer and still be difficult for the organization to deliver. Pricing, responsibilities, workflows and the customer experience all affect one another. Our Business Sprint brings those questions into the same conversation so the offer and the operating model develop together.
- You are shaping a new service, venture or revenue opportunity.
- The customer promise is clearer than the work required to deliver it.
- You need to connect strategy, customer experience and economics before a larger investment.

Before we begin
Bring the right people.
We’ll bring the structure.
Bring the business leaders and the people who understand delivery. Existing customer research, operating constraints and economic assumptions will help us get specific. We’ll use the planning call to set the opportunity, participants and working cadence across the ten days.
Talk through your workshopA few useful answers
Before you book.
How is a Business Sprint different from a Design Sprint?
A Design Sprint focuses on a prototype and customer feedback. A Business Sprint considers the wider offer, delivery model and economics, bringing the business questions together before you commit to the next stage.
Is this Jake Knapp’s sprint method?
The Business Sprint is BFD Studio’s own business-design format. Our Foundation Sprint and Design Sprint offerings are the separate workshops based on Jake Knapp and his collaborators’ methods.
Does the ten-day workshop include a software launch?
This workshop focuses on business direction and a plan for testing assumptions. Production software delivery is a separate scope. We’ll clarify the outcome you need and what work belongs in this engagement before it starts.
Can we use this for an existing business?
Yes, the starting point can be a new offer or a change to an existing service. The planning call helps us determine whether the question is focused enough for the ten-day format.
How much does the workshop cost?
We’ll scope the workshop around your team, preparation and facilitation needs. Book a call to discuss the format and get a proposal for your engagement.
Let’s start with your question.
